Embarking on his professional journey at Willis Towers Watson, Pierre seamlessly transitioned into roles with a specialized focus on the intricate realms of manufacturing and mining sectors. His tenure at Willis was marked by a dedication to excellence and a deep understanding of the complexities within these industries.

Transitioning to AFGRI, Pierre shifted his focus to the pivotal domain of agricultural insurance. Here, he demonstrated his unwavering commitment to serving the agricultural community while refining his expertise in risk management within this dynamic sector.

In 2019, Pierre embarked on an exciting new chapter by joining Aon, a move that underscored his commitment to continuous growth and innovation. At Aon, Pierre played an integral role in expanding and fortifying the corporate team, leveraging his adept leadership skills and profound industry knowledge to drive organizational success.

With a proven track record of leadership and a wealth of experience under his belt, Pierre’s contributions were instrumental in navigating complexities and achieving strategic objectives.

In February 2024, Pierre embraced a new challenge as he transitioned to RBS. Armed with a rich tapestry of experiences and insights garnered throughout his career, Pierre is poised to make significant contributions toward advancing the objectives of RBS, embodying the company’s ethos of excellence and innovation.

After completing his Bcom Law degree through UNISA, Daneel started as a Graduate Trainee at a Global Insurance Brokerage. Daneel has been successful in the client servicing space, being the trusted risk and insurance advisor for major corporate clients throughout his career, ranging from JSE-listed companies, Agriculture, F&B, Pharmaceutical, Co-Op’s etc. Daneel is professional in his everyday tasks and is extremely client focused. He has the product/service knowledge to provide the most professional and accurate advice and solutions relating to any type of company’s risk requirements.

From Assets risk, Marine Transit, Specialised Liabilities and Cyber,  from a beauty salon to a construction site, Marine is comfortable assisting clients with suitable cover for their business risks. Marine holds several insurance qualifications.

Learning the ropes from the back office thru Underwriting has given Desiree a unique understanding of all the moving parts in the insurance ecosystem. Her comprehensive knowledge, qualifications and experience have allowed her to excel in personal and commercial insurance and, over the last five years, have driven a focus on the Sectional Title domain.

Henk Nel

Henk began his career at Hoskens in 1987. Working around South Africa, he was involved in risk management for several significant construction projects, including the Lesotho Highlands Water project. This experience propelled Henk to lend his expertise to managing various important accounts, such as Eskom. In 1997,  he established Thor Insurance Brokers (Pty) Ltd and successfully grew the business until its sale in 2023 to RBS. His passion for business admired.

Kicking off his career with Price Forbes in 1977, Rob has held several director positions within the Insurance industry and managed large national accounts, including Eskom. He offers a wealth of knowledge in complex risk management environments. His early career included professional football, and he is now great credit to the RBS team. Rob’s significant experience provides him with vast knowledge of complex risk environments that continues to benefit his clients.

Missy is a Marine Specialist and has been in the insurance industry for 24 years, including working in the UK for two years. Her career has allowed her to focus on the marine insurance segment for the last fifteen years, dealing with commercial and corporate clients, both locally and internationally. Her significant wealth of experience provides RBS’s clients with a unique skill set in the marine insurance market.

Kenneth Coetzer

Kenneth began his career at Ernst and Young, later moving to the insurance sector in 1995 as a Project Finance Manager. Over two decades, he held various roles, including Insurance Portfolio Manager and Head of Insurance Operations, contributing to product development, international expansion, and technology projects. In 2016, he relocated to the Western Cape and founded a successful outsourcing business, growing it to a 25-person team. In February 2024, Kenneth joined Independent Broker Administration (IBA)as Executive Head, advocating for teamwork and the importance of great people in building successful companies.
